Will both lungs collapse if one is collapsed? why or why not?

absolutely not.
because it is separated from each other by a membrane called pleural sac. this pleural sac are supposed to maintain the resting state of the lung after expiration.
puncture of this sac will make lung to collapse, pneumothorax.
sometimes it is better to puncture one of your lung if there is mild pneumothorax affecting it.
